Virtual Santa

": What Christmas present would you like to give to one or more of your fellow artists/friends/or listeners?"
I could not help having the mental image of those terrible beauty pageant contests, where they ask the bimbo about which wish does she want to share with the world.... ahhh.. world peace...!

Well, now seriously, a gift to all would be a gift to me as well, and that would be the wish that ambience (the art of non rethorical music) becomes more widely known and enjoyed by the masses.

I'd like to give all my friends/fellow artists/listeners the gift of one "peaceful" day. That might sound like a wimpy gift, but as I get older, I become more and more aware that true peace and quiet is SO hard to come by in today's world. We always seem to be seeking distractions from that sound of the voice within. I think that one "peace and quiet" day would do all of us so much good. If I couldn't give them that gift, I'd give all of them my mother-in-law.

I'd issue out copies of Curtis Mayfield's Curtis Live! to all I know. Dunno why, other than that I love that record and it'd ensure a damn chilled out Christmas period. I guess Mr. Aquaboogie already has the record, so I'd have to just give him a big hug.

It's hard to answer this question without sounding a bit pretentious... sorry... but I'd like to help create opportunities for friends and artists to express themselves, and I hope to do just that over the coming years... perhaps through continuing Archipelago projects, perhaps through Foundry projects. Mostly I want to give of myself... to my wife, to my friends and to my family throughout the year... so watch out! ;-)
