Remembrance

"What do you want people to be saying about you
(as an artist and/or as a person) after you're "gone"?"
My closest friends and my favorite albums have in common the fact of having changed me in a profound and positive way, causing the world to show itself more expansively and invitingly. After such experiences of opening, I feel: human existence is a surprising and wonderful experience, and I must explore it further. I hope as a person and as a musician I can do the same for others.
    - Thermal: Boxman (hako otoko) label

Actually I would be very surprised if I was remembered at all! So just being remembered would in itself be quite a feat, anything beyond that would be icing on the cake. It would be nice though if they thought I had some nice ideas for music and that I was a pretty good guy but I won't hold my breath. :)
    - Loren Nerell: Ethno-musicologist

He was a real Grizzly!
    - lk: (audiochrom)

It's enough that people have heard and responded to the music which we've put out. If it's made with enough heart and soul we all have the opportunity to live through our works beyond our physical presence.
    - Martin Franklin: of Tuu

He was very strange but good guy.
    - Katsuya Hironaka: Electronician

Nigel who?
    - Nigel Ayers: of Nocturnal Emissions

Well, I do hope people will, now and after I'm gone, appreciate my continuing efforts to create music without any compromize whatsoever. Something I myself take much pride in but makes times and the efforts in achieving acknowledgement for the music difficult and complex.
    - Vidna Obmana: ambient artist

"he was the dope FL at/ip" sez a hesitainted g-dogess.
"jon liked that" said that turkey vegan.
"he liked the tournaments and did not like sports" spot the doll or dog / god
"fantastic twist the gentleman had" ban tag 'da flock
"the best father a man could ever have" gabriel sheffield
"the best husband a woman could ever have" shana sheffield
"torque for a candy funk, if you don't eat animal produce - take the tender advice for a cynical thech" falafel.com slas/h life breed
    - Jon Sheffield: bedroom producer

I just want them to listen to the music, it doesn't matter what they know or think about me as a person.
    - Robert Rich:Soundscape Productions / Amoeba Music

"Where'd he go?"...uh, seriously though...I want people to enjoy the music, bring it to life in their own way...otherwise remembrance is over rated. I want to happy now, to enjoy my life while I'm living/creating. As long as I can do that and can give something to those around me then remembrance is beside the point...
    - M. Bentley: the foundry

Regading my art, I don't care too much what people will say about it when I'm not here- opinions have nothing to do with something being good OR bad art. I'd rather just be remembered as someone who loved my wife, my daughter, and life in general. That's enough for me..
    - Jeff Pearce: ambient guitarist

With the flood of music out there these days, if people remember/still listen to my music at all in ten years --whether I'm "gone" or "here" --that will be great. In terms of being remembered, I'd hope to be missed, but that's more important on a personal than an artistic level.
    - Gio: of Makyo
