http://plaza10.mbn.or.jp/~lovethelife/ - Interior designer's URL in Tokyo, very sophisticated! Mostly in Japanese but many images and resouceful links must entertain visitors.
http://www.komazawa.com/~mitake/ -
my friend's HP, assistant professor about Politics, who study in USA now.mostly in Japanese
http://www.mars.dti.ne.jp/~blt -
my BLT Records with other Japanese label links, which contains another
Tokyo sites...
- Katsuya Hironaka: Electronician
I seem to visit Macdownload.com a lot. A great place for freeware/shareware and upgrades. Some of my regular visits are to various Mac related sites
such as deal-mac.com or Mac OS Rumors.
Of late I've been visiting Mark Pulver's site (midiwall.com) to see how his
studio is coming along. I also visit a few of my fellow composer friends
sites (Steve Roach, Robert Rich, Vidna Obmana, Djam Karet, etc.) to see what
they are up to. And of course I visit the AmbiEntrance site regularly! ;)
- Loren Nerell: Ethno-musicologist
www.harmonycentral.com -daily updates from the word of synth and music software companies. i check this site every day. it's updated daily, has a nearly all text-based design, which makes it load quick... i think it's more important
to load fast and painlessly that to be flashy and slow on a site like this.
i also check individual synth manufacturers web pages on a regular basis,
mostly software based, always on the lookout for updates, fixes and news:
bias (peak), arboretum (metasynth), waldorf synths:
waldorf has, hands down, the BEST customer support, user-feedback/interaction of any synth company out there.
www.nhl.com - gotta keep up on the hockey news!

- lk: (audiochrom)
I do not spend much time web surfing at this point...just too busy. I
occassionally research a specific question, so my most frequently
visited sites are probably search engines, like Excite, Alta Vista and
Yahoo. I think e-zines like AmbiEntrance are also good resources and use of the internet's abilities. I'm more into usefulness and functionality
at this point, not so much entertainment. However, I've always thought
Warp's site is very well done and
interesting (where else are you going to see Jimi Tenor videos?).
- M. Bentley: the foundry
Easy! www.HotNeanderthalBabesWithNoTeeth.com! I'm _always_ there! :-)
Seriously -- I quite like Hyperreal, basically 'cuz
they're not afraid to face certain aspects of electronic-music culture i.e.
drugs. I quite like The Onion, and I frequent music
review sites often (AmbiEntrance, Ujamaa's Ambient Experience,Sonic Boom, Urban Sounds, etc.)
Other than that, I'm not on the net much.
- John Michael Zorko: AdAstra Records
This is a great idea. I'm always looking for something with some real
substance on the Web. I don't think I've found my ultimate goal yet but here
are some or my favourites:
www.tem-nanterre.com/greenaway-100objects - 100 objects to represent the
World from my favourite film maker, Peter Greenaway ("The Pillow Book",
"Prospero's Books" etc.)
www.leary.com - Still online, the archives and inspirational thoughts of the late Doctor of consciousness. Always interesting graphics too.
www.hyperreal.org & www.hyperreal/music/epsilon - One of the milestones of the Internet. The indispensable music and Ambient archive still going from way back.
- Martin Franklin: of Tuu
I've got to be honest and mention that I don't search on the Internet that much
and beside the beautiful and interesting
websites of my friends and colleagues Steve Roach (
www.steveroach.com) and Hypnos (www.hypnos.com), I hardly visit other sites.
Exceptions are www.moviesoundtracks.com ,
which is definitely for me an highly interesting source for soundtracks I've
been fanatic about for years, and Jeff Towne's
(www.pond.com/~jefft) exquisite site on local
restaurants in the Philadelphia area and abroad. His expertise in writing
reviews on the restaurants, he visited and which food he ate, is so detailed,
entertaining and thoughtful you can almost smell the food. And as I'm very
found of the cuisine culture and enjoy spending evenings at a good restaurant,
this is a site I enjoy a lot.
- Vidna Obmana: ambient artist
http://mpfwww.jpl.nasa.gov/mgs/index.html - This is the homepage for the
Mars Global Surveyor. There are great photos of Mars that the mgs took,
and the whole NASA website in general is a wonderful place to find out
about the history and the future of the space program
http://www.familyinternet.com/ - This is a really nice site, with a lot of resources for parents. I visit this one a lot!
- Jeff Pearce: ambient guitarist
Hyperreal. Esp. their Eno site. They have a nice "Oblique Strategy" generator.
www.x-radio.com for the best on-line selection of
ambient/dub/techno/trance. Also KOSMOS, the ambient/space-music on-line
store. Great selection, including some hard-to-find stuff. Esp. good for
Fax, Elektrolux, UK ambient.
Harmony Central for gear (synth) reviews and info.
Raganet for those hard-to-find Indian classical cds.
Internet Movie Database for all the film info you could ever need.
The Independent --best English-language newspaper on-line.
And what would a list like this be without one naughty site? ;-)
KUNI Photo Stock, reflecting another aspect of the East.
Death to all MP3 sites! This is theft of artists' material. They say
this will break the majors' lock on what gets released. Maybe so, but it
will also make it impossible for artists to make a living off their
work.
- Gio: of Makyo
I find myself going to the BobLinks site almost daily. It is an extensive directory of links to all things Dylan. I also visit the Northside Records site fairly often, hoping to hear news that Hedningarna or Garmarna or any of those Scandinavian bands will be playing in San Francisco.
- Neville Harson: of Mandible Chatter
That's easy -- the favorite web site of ALL dark and gloomy and obsessive
dark ambient types: http://espn.go.com/nba.
No, seriously! I visit there 4 or 5 times a day, at least at this time of
year. Really, let's be honest... basketball is really a lot more fun than
spooky music. More important, too.
- M. Griffin: Hypnos Recordings
Nocturnal Emissions Web Site: check the links page there
